Civil Engineer

About the role

The Civil Engineer will provide professional civil engineering services for infrastructure projects within SMEC Solomon Islands. The role includes design calculations, technical reporting, project delivery management, and client engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver civil engineering outputs such as reports, design calculations, and documentation.
• Manage and coordinate project activities in line with client and company requirements.
• Provide technical outputs that meet environmental, social, and quality standards.
• Support business development initiatives, including proposals and marketing activities.
• Supervise and guide drafting and technical support staff where required.
• Maintain strong client relationships and contribute to successful project delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional membership of an engineering body.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in civil engineering, preferably in PNG or similar environment.
• Good communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Good conceptual understanding of technical subjects.
• Basic knowledge of preparation of Bill of Quantities.
• Basic knowledge of civil, structural, and geotechnical design.
• Effective time‑management and ability to plan workloads to meet deadlines.
