Resident Engineer

About the role

The Resident Engineer will supervise daily construction activities and ensure that works are delivered in line with contract requirements, approved designs and project schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise construction activities, monitor contractor performance and verify compliance with drawings, specifications and quality standards.
• Review and approve contractor submissions such as work programmes, method statements, materials and shop drawings.
• Monitor progress, identify delays or risks, verify quantities and support payment applications.
• Assist in evaluating claims, variations and extensions of time, and ensure compliance with OHS, environmental and social safeguards.
• Coordinate with contractors, airport operators, government authorities and other stakeholders, maintaining accurate site records and preparing progress reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Construction, Airport Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of construction supervision experience on infrastructure projects, preferably under FIDIC contracts.
• Experience with major infrastructure sectors such as airports, transport, roads or buildings.
• Experience on World Bank, ADB or other internationally funded projects is an advantage.
• Strong communication skills in written and spoken English and willingness to work onsite.
