About the role
The Solomon Islands Country Lead will manage and strategize conservation programs for The Nature Conservancy, ensuring alignment with global goals and delivering measurable outcomes in the Solomon Islands.
Key responsibilities
- Lead execution and adaptive management of conservation programs, including climate mitigation, biodiversity protection, and sustainable development.
- Represent TNC with government agencies, Indigenous Peoples, donors, media and other stakeholders to build alliances and shared agendas.
- Adaptively manage the annual workplan and budget, ensuring timely delivery within budget.
- Support regional and global fundraising efforts, including donor cultivation and proposal development.
- Ensure compliance with local laws, TNC policies, and operational standards.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in conservation, non‑profit leadership or related fields.
- Proven experience leading large multidisciplinary teams and collaborating across functional lines.
- Fluent in English and Solomon Islands Pijin, with strong communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated success in fundraising, budget management and stakeholder engagement.
Required skills
- Experience in fundraising and budget management.
- Knowledge of conservation regulations, agreements and policies in the Solomon Islands.
