About the role

SMEC is seeking an experienced Geotechnical & Materials Engineer to join its consulting team for an upcoming Feasibility Study (FS) for a road/infrastructure project in the Solomon Islands. The specialist will provide technical recommendations supporting the feasibility assessment and preliminary engineering design.

Key responsibilities

Assess ground conditions and geotechnical risks
Evaluate construction materials and pavement subgrade conditions
Analyse slope stability
Identify potential material sources
Provide technical recommendations to support the feasibility assessment and preliminary engineering design

Required profile

University degree or equivalent professional qualifications in civil engineering or geotechnical engineering
Minimum of 8 years of experience in geotechnical engineering of bridges and roads under road/bridge projects
Fluent writing and speaking English is mandatory
