Deputy Operations Manager

About the role

The Deputy Operations Manager will support the delivery of World Vision’s programmes across the portfolio, ensuring they are executed on time, within budget and to high quality standards. This role combines strategic oversight with hands‑on leadership to build the capacity of sector and project managers.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to operational strategy and planning at the portfolio level.
• Provide operational insights and recommendations to the Operations Manager.
• Oversee implementation of programmes through Sector Portfolio Managers and Project Managers/Coordinators.
• Ensure clear roles, expectations and accountability across teams.
• Directly manage and develop the capacity of SPMs and Project Managers/Coordinators.
• Address staff performance and conduct issues in line with policies.
• Identify and manage operational risks, ensuring timely mitigation.
• Ensure compliance with organisational policies, donor requirements and safeguarding standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in operational leadership within the humanitarian or development sector.
• Strong ability to coach, guide and manage multidisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated competence in risk management and performance monitoring.
• Commitment to Christian values and ethical leadership.
