Project Manager - Youth Social Entrepreneurship Development

About the role

World Vision is hiring a Project Manager for its Youth Social Entrepreneurship Development Plus (YSED+) project in the Solomon Islands, funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of New Zealand. The project runs from 2026 to 2030 in targeted communities in North and East Malaita and covers livelihood and Child Protection. The position is based in Malaita, is a local fixed-term contract, and reports to the Sector Portfolio Manager of Livelihood.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support project implementation so that outputs and outcomes are achieved, with the team following the Detailed Implementation Plan.
• Manage the project budget, provide variance reporting and make revisions where needed.
• Hold regular lessons-learned reflections and information sharing sessions.
• Mobilize communities and youth groups, identify key community members and raise awareness through education, demonstrations, youth forums and exchange visits.
• Attend provincial and national stakeholder meetings and submit monthly project updates on the 27th-29th of each month.
• Prepare monthly funding requests, authorize trip plans, approve per diems and cash advances, sign off expenditure reports and follow HR policies while safeguarding staff and upholding child protection standards.

Required profile

• 5 years or more of experience in livelihood or Gender and Child Protection.
• At least 3 years of supervision and management experience.
• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Economics, Community Development, Law or a related discipline.
• Knowledge of poverty and community empowerment approaches, and of Disaster Risk Reduction policies.
• Good communication, problem-solving, data collection, networking and resource mobilization skills; reading and writing English.
• Willingness to work in the target community and collaborate with staff and stakeholders.
