Community Development Facilitator (Fixed-Term)

About the role

World Vision seeks a Community Development Facilitator to support vulnerable children and families in the Solomon Islands. The role is fixed‑term and rooted in the organization’s Christian values, encouraging a spirit of service beyond the formal duties.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with local communities to identify needs and develop projects that improve children’s wellbeing.
• Coordinate and monitor community‑based activities, ensuring alignment with World Vision’s mission and standards.
• Collaborate with local partners, volunteers, and staff to deliver program components effectively.
• Document progress, report outcomes, and adapt initiatives based on feedback.
• Occasionally undertake additional tasks outside the job description, reflecting the Biblical principle of “walking the extra mile.”

Required profile

• Demonstrated commitment to serving vulnerable populations, especially children.
• Ability to work in challenging environments and adapt to changing community needs.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for community engagement.
• Willingness to contribute time to community work without extra compensation when required.
