Communications & Advocacy Manager

About the role

The Communications & Advocacy Manager leads World Vision Solomon Islands' communications and advocacy functions, reporting to the Program Quality, Resource Development and External Engagement Manager. This role implements the communications plan, enhances the organisation's public profile, and supports advocacy on child‑focused issues across the Solomon Islands.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for communications and advocacy activities.
• Develop and execute advocacy campaigns and translate priorities into communication products.
• Manage public engagement, media relations, and humanitarian emergency communications.
• Oversee content creation, resource mobilisation support, and ensure alignment with brand and safeguarding standards.
• Supervise the Communications & Advocacy team, manage the communications budget, and act as line manager for the Content & Digital Coordinator.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in communications, advocacy, media or a related field with progressive responsibility.
• Proven experience designing and implementing advocacy strategies or campaigns, preferably in a development or humanitarian context.
• Background working with an INGO, UN agency or similar organisation.
• Demonstrated experience managing staff or teams.
• Experience in content production including writing, photography and video.
• Strong ability to engage with media and manage media relationships.
