Labour Mobility Communications and Creative Content Specialist (Consultant A)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration is seeking a locally recruited Consultant to lead Activity 1.2.3 within the Labour Mobility Unit (LMU) of the Solomon Islands government. The role focuses on developing and delivering gender‑sensitive information, education and communication (IEC) materials that support the economic reintegration of returning migrant workers.

Key responsibilities

• Research and gather relevant data, good practices and resources to inform IEC content on employment, skills development, entrepreneurship, financial literacy and psychosocial support.
• Consult with LMU, stakeholders and target audiences to validate information needs, define key messages and ensure materials are accessible and relevant.
• Provide technical advice on content, format, design and communication channels, recommending the most effective ways to reach returning migrants.
• Develop, produce and adapt a suite of IEC resources (print, digital, audio‑visual) and support their dissemination through print, online platforms, radio and community outreach.
• Monitor engagement, collect feedback and recommend adjustments to improve relevance and impact of the materials.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in creating gender‑sensitive IEC or communication materials, preferably in migration or development contexts.
• Strong research, stakeholder‑engagement and content‑development skills, with the ability to translate findings into clear, actionable messages.
• Proven ability to manage the full production cycle of printed, digital and audio‑visual resources.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
